CAIA hosts inaugural webinar on biodiversity
On 6 May 2025, CAIA hosted a webinar that highlighted the importance of biodiversity management in business. The session raised awareness of the benefits of managing, measuring and reporting on biodiversity; clarified international and national obligations; built understanding of global reporting frameworks; and unpacked Target 15 of the Global Biodiversity Framework and its implications for business. The webinar also showcased practical examples of how CAIA member companies are integrating biodiversity considerations into their operations and reporting.

- Introduction to the GBF and Target 15 by South Africa’s Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE).
- Overview of international biodiversity reporting frameworks.
- Insights into the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) in South Africa.
- Biodiversity initiatives by CAIA member companies: Interwaste, and Sasol.
