CAIA hosted a second biodiversity webinar on 4 September 2025, building on the introductory webinar held on 6 May 2025. The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) presented their work to create tools and information resources used to guide policy and showed how biodiversity management was a factor for economic development. Mainstreaming biodiversity ensured that addressing development needs and protecting the environment was not an either-or situation, but rather that development was supported by the sustainable use of natural resources.
Dr Daan Loock shared how Sasol has successfully mainstreamed biodiversity into their day-to-day operations.
