The objective of the workshop is to provide a platform for stakeholders and interested parties to seek clarity on the contents of the Section 28 Notice. It will also provide DEA with an opportunity to explain the Notice and the intention on some of the requirements.

As a result of the CAIA’s participation at the Department of Environmental Affairs’ Chemicals and Waste Economy Phakisa during 2017, and it being elected speaker for the Initiatives of the Chemicals Workstream, CAIA was invited to be a member of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on the revision to the lead phase-out legislation.
