The PCC recently delivered a presentation to the Nedlac Trade and Industry Chamber regarding the Just Transition. It was reported that South Africa faces serious trade and competitiveness risks from a climate change perspective, including from the European Union’s CBAM. By 2030, South African exports could fall by 8.7% (chemicals); 6.0% (aluminium); 30.5% (iron and steel); and 44.3% (cement).
