The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries has published a Draft Second Generation Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) for Vaal Triangle Airshed Priority Area, for public comment. The Vaal Triangle Airshed was declared a priority area in April 2006 and was the first Air Quality Priority Area in South Africa due to concerns related to elevated pollutant concentrations within the area, specifically particulates.
