Greenhouse gas inventory

The draft ninth national greenhouse gas inventory report for South Africa was published on 2 May for 30-day public comment. The inventory covers the period 2000 to 2022 and provides estimates of current emissions levels and trends for the country. The overall emissions, including land use, land-use change and forestry, were 435,828 Gg carbon dioxide equivalent in 2022.
