Eskom retail tariffs

NERSA announced the approval of the Eskom retail tariff and structural adjustment application. The tariff will increase by 12.74% for Eskom direct customers and 11.32% for municipalities. The increase will come into effect from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2026 for Eskom direct customers and from 1 July 2025 for municipal customers.

Draft Transformation Fund

The Draft Transformation Fund concept document was published on 19 March 2025 for a 30-day public comment period. The aim of the fund is to aggregate enterprise and supplier development (ESD) funds in support of transformation and the participation and sustainability of black-owned enterprises in the economy. It is expected that an amount of R100 billion will be aggregated over the term of the current administration through a joint effort by government in partnership with the private sector.
