Regulations relating to the procedure to be followed when oral requests are made in terms of Section 30A

Summary of Intent

The regulations in terms of 30A(1) of the National Environmental Management Act have been promulgated and provide for emergency situations where a listed or specific activity needs to be commenced with, without obtaining an environmental authorisation. Under such situations a verbal directive for the activity to commence may be issued by the competent authority upon the submission of an oral request. Certain conditions must be met and specific information must be provided for the oral request to be considered. Further requirements include, amongst others, the need to provide written information and reports, and to allow site visits. (R310)Your membership level does not allow you access to this content.
