Invitation for Stakeholders to Submit Written Comments on the Cost of Supply Framework for Licensed Electricity Distributors in South Africa

Summary of Intent

As provided for by Section 4(ii) of the Electricity Regulation Act, NERSA may regulate electricity prices and tariffs. Whilst this framework primarily focuses on the distribution business of a licensee, it is also acknowledged that certain distributors also have own generation plants and others might progress into transmission capacity. The framework therefore also includes cost drivers relating to the generation and transmission of electricity.
