Summary of Intent
The BUSA Water Working Group meets to discuss challenges that are being experienced in the water sector, and to meet with the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) on a quarterly basis to raise its concerns and understand the progress being made by the DWS on their key priorities. A major focus of the meetings has been to try and resolve the ongoing challenges experienced during the application, consideration, decision-making process and licence communications with stakeholders. Although a number of improvements have been implemented by the DWS and policy discussion held on further improvements that could be made, it appears that water use licensing remains a concern. A monitoring process is in the process of being agreed with the DWS and BUSA, to determine over the next six months how the licensing process is performing before further advocacy initiatives are undertaken. Please look out for a dedicated communique from CAIA requesting information on the company’s experiences with the process recently.Your membership level does not allow you access to this content.
