A task team was established in 2023 comprising representatives of the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) and industry to assess and address water use licence conditions, with a specific focus on unimplementable conditions. Department of Agriculture, Land reform and Rural Development

Application for derogation of agricultural remedy

Summary of Intent
An application has been submitted to the Department for the derogation of a registered agricultural remedy that contains halosulfuron-methyl. Halosulfuron-methyl has been identified as a substance of concern due to its classification as a reproductive toxin Category 1B according to the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. A risk assessment has been conducted for the proposed end uses. Comments on the application must be submitted by 24 February 2025.
