National Agricultural Marketing Council (Marketing of Agricultural Products Act)

Invitation to register as a directly affected group

Summary of Intent

The National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC) is updating its "Register of Directly Affected Groups" for each commodity in the agricultural sector. A directly affected group means any group of persons, which is party to the production, sale, purchase, processing or consumption of an agricultural product and includes labour employed in the production or processing of such a product. The register is inter alia being used to bring applications for statutory measures, (interventions in the agricultural sector in terms of the MAP Act) to the attention of directly affected groups and to invite such directly affected groups to lodge any objections or representations relating to such a request to the NAMC within a specified time. The viewpoints of directly affected groups are considered before the NAMC formulates its recommendations to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. National Water Act

Draft Regulations regarding the procedural requirements for license applications in terms of Section 26(1)(k)

Summary of Intent

Water use must be licensed unless it is listed in Schedule 1 of the Act, is an existing lawful use, is permissible under a general authorisation or if a responsible authority dispenses with the requirement for a licence. An integrated process has been designed to address issues relating to environmental laws in mining areas, which needs to be applied in a well-co-ordinated, structured and synchronised manner, which will give effect to the "one environmental system". The purpose of these Regulations is to regulate the procedure and criteria in Chapter 4 of the National Water Act relating to the submission, processing and consideration of, and decision on applications for water use licences in order to avoid or minimize detrimental impacts on the water resources.Your membership level does not allow you access to this content.
