Storage, Handling and Transportation of Ammonium Nitrate Webinar
Ammonium nitrate is a hazardous chemical, a safety concern, and an ingredient in explosives. It is regulated in South Africa under the Explosives Act Number 26 of 1956 and its regulations. Ammonium nitrate is capable of detonation, explosive decomposition, and explosive reaction. This is a primary concern during the storage, handling, and transportation of ammonium nitrate.
This webinar will address the effective risk management of the storage, handling, and transportation of ammonium nitrate as well as ammonium nitrate-based fertilisers. The discussion will also include an exchange of information on available instruments and control measures that are essential for controlling the risk associated with the storage, handling, and transportation of ammonium nitrate.
Please join CAIA for this all-important discussion. The incident that took place in Beirut on 4 August 2020 is a wake-up call for all chemical manufacturers, importers, distributors, and warehousing facilities in South Africa.
