- Prepare PSM audit reports
- Understand the Responsible Care® Process Safety Audit Guidance Document

Please note that this course is a pre-requisite for CAIA’s Responsible Care® Management System Auditor Training Course.
Pre-requisites
- Any person who is active in PSM, PSM audits and/or the implementation of PSM elements
- A minimum of 65% pass in CAIA Responsible Care® RBPSM Module 2 course
- Additional chemical engineering or PSM qualifications will be considered
Assessment
To demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes, delegates are required to provide evidence during a knowledge assessment (theory test) that they can:
- Explain what to audit when planning and conducting a PSM audit
- Explain the purpose and objectives of the CAIA Responsible Care® PSM audit protocol
- Describe the information that will be gathered during the “Facility Overview”
- Explain how an audit can be used to enhance the effectiveness of a company’s RBPSM System

PRESENTER
Francois Holtzhausen
Process Safety Consultant
Francois Holtzhausen is a chemical engineer and graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand. His process safety career started in 2000 when he was appointed Process Safety Technology Leader for the Dow Chemical Company (Dow), where he was responsible for driving the implementation of process safety at the newly acquired Dow facilities in South Africa. During 2006, he was appointed Process Safety Advisor for Sasol South Africa Limited (Sasol) and was tasked with the implementation of a process safety management system at Sasol. Francois was part of the Sasol team that developed the Sasol FER Severity Index. He retired from Sasol in 2015 and is currently a consultant in process safety, focusing mainly on process safety training and auditing. He was the chairperson of the CAIA Gauteng Process Safety Forum from 2013 to 2018 and is a certified Responsible Care® Management System auditor.
