DESCRIPTION:This advanced programme aims to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills for implementing Globally Harmonized System (GHS) in accordance with the United Nations GHS Revision 10. Participants will gain expertise in hazard classification\, labelling\, Safety Data Sheets (SDS)\, and international compliance strategies. Participants will gain expertise in hazard classification\, labelling\, Safety Data Sheets (SDS)\, and international compliance strategies. \nDuration: 5 sessions over 5 weeks \nDATES\nSession 1:  10 March 2026\nSession 2:  17 March 2026\nSession 3:  24 March 2026\nSession 4:  31 March 2026\nSession 5:  14 April 2026 \nPlatform:  MS Teams \nCost:\nCAIA members R12 000.00 excl. VAT\nNon-CAIA members R15 000.00 excl. VAT \nTarget Audience: \n\nRegulatory professionals\nChemical safety officers\nCompliance managers\nTechnical experts involved in chemical hazard classification and communication\n\nAs this is an advanced and technical course\, participants are expected to have a solid basic knowledge in natural sciences (chemistry\, biology) and in mathematics (for non-advanced equations)\, as well as some experience with non-GHS classification systems and/or in hazard/risk assessments. \nLearning Outcomes: \nBy the end of the course\, participants will: \n\nUnderstand and apply GHS classification criteria for physical\, health\, and environmental hazards.\nPrepare compliant labels and SDS according to international standards.\nNavigate complex regulatory frameworks for global chemical management.\n\nContent and Structure:\nSession 1: Introduction & Framework\nSession 2: Hazard Classification Principles and Physical Hazards\nSession 3: Health & Environmental Hazards\nSession 4:  Hazard Communication & SDS\nSession 5:  Advanced Testing & Compliance \nThe sessions are spread over a period of 5 weeks.
